Young children to seniors participated in the Great Plantingin El Junquillo, a community in San Isidro, Cabañas, where more than 600 fruit and forest trees were planted for World Environment Day.

The activity was organized by ADES Santa Marta, together with CRIPDES, the Fondo de Iniciativa para las Américas (FIAES), the government of Cabañas, the Sensuntepeque Military Detachment, the Institute of San Isidro, and residents of Junquillo.

This is the start of a series of tree planting activities that will take place this winter in order to reforest the zones closest to the Rio Lempa and Río Titihuapa, the two principle tributaries in the department.
