El equipo de ADES fortalece sus capacidades en la producción orgánica

Through video forums organized by ADES Santa Marta, the communities of Izcatal, San Isidro; and Cuyantepeque and Los Almendros, in Sensuntepeque have had the opportunity over the past month to deepen their understanding of metallic mining.

ADES will tour all of the communities close to the El Dorado mining project, projecting short videos about the environmental impacts of mining. The objective is to inform the population and refute El Dorado foundations arguments, which financed by the transnational organization Oceana Gold, is looking to win over peoples hearts and minds in favor of the mine.

After the video projections, the participants take the floor, both to ask questions and to express their opinion. At this point, the community’s concern for the deceitful strategies of the El Dorado Foundation becomes evident.

Through the month of November, ADES Santa Marta intends to visit the majority of communities close to the mining project stopped since 2009 thanks to the social pressure from the communities.
